Lions, Tigers, and PARENTS! Oh My!: Constructive Communication with Parents

In her most popular session, "Lions, Tigers, and PARENTS! Oh My!: Constructive Communication with Parents," Ms. Carter addresses common parent-related concerns and questions for the independent music teacher.  Using humor, practical hand-outs, and even a look at the MTNA Code of Ethics, Ms. Carter creates a fun, safe, and professional atmosphere. Teachers have an opportunity to respectfully share their questions about real-life scenarios and receive suggestions.

This 2-hour interactive workshop has routinely been highly praised by teachers as a favorite session of the year.

"You were our first presenter for this year, and your program was excellent! You offered so many good suggestions for real life situations."

- Terri

"Thank you SO much, Rebekah, for your helpful session yesterday.  You are indeed an Excellent Communicator ... amazing!"

- Barbara

MTNA Certification: for College Students

When is the best time to become a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music?  In college, of course!

Students in a music degree program are already working on many of the requirements included in the MTNA Certification program: "Write my teaching philosophy?  Explore curriculums?  Create studio policies?  ...I'm already doing this in my Pedagogy class!!"

Yup.

Schedule Ms. Carter to present this 1-hour session to your institution's pedagogy class.  Students will learn how this professional certificate can give them an edge in the teaching field after graduation!

(There is no requirement to be a member of MTNA, or to have a collegiate MTNA chapter at your institution, to host this session.)
